Why obey the Ten Commandments?

Moïse et les tables de la loi

God gave us His commandments out of love for us. It is also out of love for Him that we follow them. However, there is another excellent reason for doing so: to be happy. In fact, God wants our happiness much more than we ourselves want it, and that is the reason why He gave us His commandments.

In the end, then, it is so that we will give priority to what is really good for us. However, here it is not just anything that will be good for us, but the only good thing that is lasting and eternal: God.
